Vegas Outfits | One week in Vegas Packing Guide (Carry-on)

If you’re wondering what to wear in Vegas, look no further! I put together some Vegas outfits for one week in Vegas.

When I was looking in my closet for “Vegas clothes” or dresses for Vegas that were in style, I was sadly disappointed. I hadn’t been clubbing for two years since living in Goa and Goa beach style is SO not Vegas attire.

I ended up finding a nice variety of outfits and had everything I needed for a great party week during my friends’ bachelorette party.

Vegas Outfits (a peek inside my luggage)

I’m going to share photos of what’s inside my bag and also below I’ll put photos of the outfits I put together to give you an idea. FYI I had my camera on the wrong setting while I was taking photos and didn’t realize until later! I didn’t have time to re-take them, so I apologize for the terrible quality of clothes on the bed.

Alright so, here what we’ve got…. First of all, I used a 19 inch carry-on bag from which is roomy and still fit the qualifications for Frontier airlines (super budget airline, don’t fly them lol, totally regret it!). The only thing this luggage doesn’t have that my old one does is a zipaway for my laptop. Because I took a small backpack as my personal item with my laptop in it, the Calpak luggage actually gave me more space.

Here’s what I have inside, and it’s not much (some is pictured below this list and I’ll link to the clothing in the photos below of me wearing it):

  • 1 tan jean short, 1 blue jean short
  • 1 PJ pant
  • 1 tan leather skirt, 1 black tribal print leather skirt
  • 1 casual romper
  • 2 casual dresses
  • 2 party dresses (1 homemade, 1 silk)
  • 1 dressy top
  • 5 crop tops
  • 3 sets work out clothing (yoga pants, sports bra, 1 jumper)
  • 4 swim suit cover-ups
  • 6 bikinis… I know, I know…
  • pool stuff: sunnies (
& Taylor Morris), Sun Bum sunscreen, Kindle
  • blogging stuff: camera, batteries, computer, chargers
  • 2 purses (excessive)
  • toiletries & mini size make up
  • 3 shoes: 1 UGGS slip on, 1 Sol Sana sandal, 1 Aldo cream heels
  • bras, undies

Vegas Outfits | One week in Vegas Packing Guide (FAVORITE ever), , and classic Aldo’s that KILLED my feet though!

how to put Vegas outfits together:

Here are the outfits that I actually took photos of so you can see how it all worked out. There were 8 girls there and I’m happy to say the only thing I needed to borrow was a curling iron when I decided to do my hair one night (something I haven’t done in nearly two years!).

Packing for Vegas in a carry-on CalpakThis is a dress I had made in India, so can’t link to it but you get the drift. There is no such thing as “too low cut” in Vegas. In fact, this one wasn’t dressy enough for a club, this was for a cocktail hour.

Packing for Vegas in a carry-on CalpakThis is Teeki brand yoga wear. It’s THE  MOST COMFORTABLE yoga clothing I’ve ever owned, I have to say! They make the craziest color combos and prints and it’s out of recycled materials.

Packing for Vegas in a carry-on CalpakAnother yoga outfit, this one is Vimmia, a brand I found when researching yoga wear for my job at Bravo TV writing. I love these yoga pants and every time I wear them people ask where they can get them!

Packing for Vegas in a carry-on CalpakThis was my “big night out” outfit. It’s from a boutique called that I worked with on an Instagram collaboration. The leather skirt is SO perfect. I was so impressed with the quality of the clothing that I’ve bought more to take back to Goa. The shoes are Aldo, and used to fit great but since I never wear heels killed my feet.

Packing for Vegas in a carry-on CalpakThis is a skirt I had made in Goa from tribal print mixed with leather side panels. The top is from and is high quality and thick so you don’t need to wear a bra with it. The purse is , a Turkish brand I love and saw while in Istanbul earlier this year.

Packing for Vegas in a carry-on CalpakThis dress and the one below are from , a boutique that is from UK/Goa and sells online. I love their dresses and they were perfect for Vegas but would be good for beach vacations too.

My mom doesn’t love that scallops are in lol but since I’ve been home I’ve been wanting to buy everything scalloped! I’m obsessed. This swimsuit is reversible to blue and is very comfortable.

Packing for Vegas in a carry-on CalpakThis is a bikini from , my bestie in Goa who is a swimsuit designer. I saved this one to wear to the encore pool party because it’s the bomb!

Packing for Vegas in a carry-on CalpakAnother bikini… this is which is one of my favorite bikinis for travel because they are SO soft, dry fast, and have more coverage than most swimsuits that I wear. I love this bikini!

Okay, ONE MORE bikini! This one is Melissa Odabash and it’s MY FAVORITE bikini right now. I just love the way it fits and it’s really soft. The gold straps made it a little fancier so I wore it to the Venetian pool and Tao beach party. I’m also wearing my Missoma jewelry that I wear every day. It has my birthstone and initial.

I’m going to Vegas next June and have already started planing my outfits haha. This was super helpful! I’m in love with your carry-on as I often fly Spirit, an equally awful budget airline, home to visit and struggle to find a good carry-on that fits their requirements. Last time I flew them, I saw someone using a filing box as a carry on and actually thought it was a good idea #thestruggleisreal. Definitely adding that to my wish-list!

Oh I’ve heard Spirit is similar. I haven’t flown it. I’m so glad these tips are helping you for your trip!

Cute, cute, cute. I did not know Ugg made shoes like that! I’ll have to go check them out. I love to go out, party, and dress up but it seems like Vegas attire is on another level lol! Beachy Goa clothes seem more my style :)

UGG makes heels and leather boots and all kinds of stuff now, I saw the cutest stuff at Macy’s and there is an outlet near my house that has an UGG store :) Yeah, Vegas was a little too much for me (heels at the pool) and I bet if I never moved to India I’d be like that! scary!

You look great but the best thing about Vegas is anything goes! Wear whatever you like. Love love Vegas!

Thanks Clare! You’re right you can do just about anything you want there :)

  4. You look fabulous in everything Rachel!
I’ve only been to Vegas once, and you’re right, the flashier your outfit is, the better.

For a night out on the town with my husband, I wore a pale green and silver sparkly number that I had made in Vietnam, and it fit right in lol!

    ‘Love the bikinis. xx

You’re right, the flashier the better there haha. I’d love to see a pic of what you made in Vietnam! If it’s on Instagram, tag me in it :)
