Stay at the Newest Palm Beach Hotel + What To Do

There’s nothing not to love about Palm Beach, Florida! I love staying at new hotels and was hoping to stay at a cool Palm Beach Resort. The people over at Visit Florida who hosted this trip booked us in at the Hilton West Palm Beach which just opened in February.

Go ahead and look up the price… right now it’s saying $199 a night! Not bad for a brand new Hilton. Hopefully it stays that way.

I’m going to share about the hotel what I got up to for 3 days in the Palm Beaches. West Palm was my favorite, but checking out the houses and shopping in Palm Beach was too cool!

Newest Palm Beach Hotel

I wasn’t planning to do a hotel review, so I actually don’t have many pictures of the room; only a few that I took on Instagram. This won’t be as detailed as most of my reviews as I want to share what to do in the area even more!

plam beaches florida19The room was light, bright, and spacious which I’ll always take over a dark Victorian style room. There were small touches of blue and the TV was HUGE. I actually watched the Kardashians (don’t judge) and did some work from bed one night which felt so good. I’d been in the US for a couple of days, but hadn’t had a chance to just CHILL. It was a good room to do that. Plus, there was a coffee machine in the room.

Palm Beach HotelThe pool was really nice. I saw this swan through the lobby when I first got to the hotel and thought, I’ve got to get on that! I wasn’t the only one thinking that so I actually only got about 5 minutes on it then felt bad and gave it to some kids.

Luckily, there were about a dozen rafts floating around you could use and I just floated and tanned for a couple of hours one day.Palm Beach Hotel

The last day, I didn’t have time because I slept in so I went down to just buy a to-go coffee. The girl just gave it to me, no charge! Woo hoo haha that never happens.Palm Beach HotelI did work out since was nice and you could request a yoga mat or you can go down to the gym. I’m new to working out so can’t be bothered to go to a gym and do it in front of people, I don’t know how to use the machines anyway.

Palm Beach HotelI wrote a packing list for Florida but these Free People dresses are the bomb when I travel. I have the exact same one in blue. I recommend dresses for this area because it’s hot (96 while we were there), humid, and you need to look dresses up for the Palm Beaches. Little breezy dresses for the day look better than jean shorts for the Palm Beach vibe.

Palm Beach HotelThe bikini I’m wearing is L*Space which is my all time favorite brand for travel because they are fairly conservative (not Brazilian cut) and this one is the “Wild One” style. It’s reversible from light blue to dark blue on the top and light blue to tan on the bottom. It’s my favorite bikini right now!

They are throwing open pool parties on Sundays at the pool so they might be a little more crowded at that time. While we were there, they had a church group with a lot of kids so on Sunday it was hard to tell if people were there from outside the hotel or from the church group but it was definitely crowded.
You can rent cabanas (I think they said $500 a day) but it’s pricey and unnecessary in my opinion. If you can, request a room that overlooks the pool. It’s a better view and you can look down and see the crowd before you go down.

The hotel was great and had a little cafe and shop as well. They had elaborate ball rooms and meeting rooms as well as a concierge that could set things up for you.

What to do in the Palm Beaches Florida

So, what ARE the Palm Beaches you might wonder. West Palm Beach is the mainland section in South West Florida. Then there is a bridge that goes out to a small inlet that is Palm Beach. Together they are Palm Beaches.

The West is more chilled but still fancy, while the East is WAY fancy with all the celebs owning houses there and rich people like Trump. Florida doesn’t have state tax so celebs, rich people, and sports stars buy homes here.

I have 13 photos below. I tried to narrow them down because they seemed repetitive but I feel like they each are so beautiful and show just how gorgeous the Palm Beaches are. This was Palm Beach (not West Palm) and just some spots we saw on the drive down A1A.

But it’s not just beaches!

While on the Palm Beach side, we also checked out the hot street called Worth Avenue which has a LOT of history to it in terms of fashion when the US was quite new.

Palm Beach was so fancy, it’s hard not to just feel like a tourist (which I was). West Palm you could blend it to feel like you were part of the community a bit more.

They are all about community as well with families out having picnics, everyone walking dogs, interactive art installations, and fun options like mini-golf around the downtown area and Clematis Street which has a lot on it. We ate at Grease Burger which was SO tasty.

Get the fried pickles and the milkshake full of BOOZE!

If you head to the East end of Clematis Street to Los Trompos you’ll see the art installation I mentioned, which changes every year. Kids and adults both loved playing on it! The art spun around. The golf was called Glow FORE it and was pretty cool.

west palm floridaWe tried Rocco’s Taocs one day when it rained out our plans and it was okay but I have to say, not the best Mexican I’ve had.

west palm floridaWe also tried out Revolutions Bowling for dinner. It’s set up with dinner on one side with really neat booths and adult bowling on the other (I say adult because it was very trendy with booze and music, etc, like a party place). All of us were size 7.5 and they didn’t have that many shoes so we didn’t end up bowling.

west palm floridaSloan’s Ice Cream is the greatest place on earth. I cannot even explain how tasty this place is! Plus, it’s a giant candy store along with the ice cream options. They even host kids’ birthday parties.

west palm florida rapids water parkOn my last day, I went to the South Florida Science Center before my flight since it’s about 10 minutes from the airport. This is definitely just for kids. They are adding a mini golf course, in construction. It was fun to goof around though and if you need to pass the time before a flight you could stop. The airport is SO small you don’t need any time there.

If I could go back, I would definitely check out the Hilton again as it was a fantastic hotel. I’d want to stay on the West Palm Beach, because although the Palm Beach side is gorgeous it’s very private and expensive.

Clemitis Street has lots of food options and bars for adults and the science center, golfing, and water park were great for kids!

I LOVE Palm Beach – it’s such a nice spot – can’t imagine how hot it must have been over the Summer though! I prefer to go in November or March :)

It was on par with India heat because it was about 96 and then the humidity was full!

Many fond memories of palm beach. We used to stay at the Hawaiian in south palm. But they’re turning it into condos. Happy to know about another affordable option. Can also recommend drinks by the pool at the four seasons. Service is gracious.
