Welcome back to This is India! I always have funny/weird stories about India to share with friends or family when I talk to them. This is just meant to be an honest portrayal about my life in India through short anecdotes. I also share here what I’ve been up to online outside Werkenntwen.
What I was up to other than here:
- MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! I’m celebrating with Ben, my mom, and my dad. We are going to Hampi for a couple days. They thought Bombay was wild but it was a great day there & we’re enjoying Goa.
Now your story,
Not so much a story today as it is just a little look at some daily life in Assagao.
One of my favorite things is when I want to make some toast or a grilled cheese and I hear the bells of the bread man on his bicycle outside. He comes with local bread (at a higher price than if we went into the bakery to buy it) and conveniently brings it to our front gate.
The bagel looking ones are a bit hard and not my favorite, but the local pao and poi (one is white and one is wheat) are very good! We usually get 6 pcs. of pao for 15 rupees (which is about 25 cents) and it’s always fresh! It’s a small thing, but having a cup of coffee in the morning and some fresh delivered bread is pretty great!
little huckle used to love the bread man!
